Weird to say that isn’t it?

I’ve just written a feature for Making magazine on craft and the WI. As a member of my local branch, it’s something I’ve already got an interest in and I really enjoyed finding out about all the makers who are getting involved with the WI today; including India Rabey.

India founded a WI in Bristol and is one super creative individual – here’s just some of the creations she made for her own wedding.

Of course, you may well have heard about the Shoreditch Sisters – a thoroughly modern WI in east London. Its president Jazz Domino Holly has also written a fantastic book called Queen of Crafts (pictured, below).

If you’re not a member of your WI and are considering joining in 2012, I’d definitely recommend it. Until then, look out for my feature early next year.
